The Artist of the Month in September 2010 is Rossella Fava cAtrOuGe |
|

© Rossella Fava [cAtrOuGe] Rossella Fava [cAtrOuGe] is an Italian artist. "Eyes, open rift on another world, open windows in front of fragile lands or, often, a brutal rip that lies bare our tremulous flesh, our fragility. Being a centenary tree bark or the mammal ful, the eye betrays the life inside the armor, both made of hard rocks or void cosmic space. Ideal, cruel, real eye, that look inside of us, they judge us, to value sins of our race like Jackal God, cAtrOuGe's eyes scream more than ten thousand lambs, they scratch like ferrets in a cage, smelling terror like cows at slaughter: these eyes look inside our souls, without veils, like a sentenced to death looks straight his firing squad. - Simone MARTINA - 2010" www.catrouge.com |

The Artist of the Month in July 2010 is Mario Keglevic |
|
)
Spring 2010 Acryl on canvas 18X24 © Mario Keglevic MARIO KEGLEVIC, 1963, Zagreb, Croatia Mario was 10 years old when he got his first oil paints and started to paint on glass, the technique which many living artist today admire how is it done. In his childhood he mostly had to paint at night while his parents were sleeping, because they didn’t support his skills in his early age. His love for colors was enormous, which made him to discover how to paint his own world and his own peace. In 1993 he left to Australia during the conflict in Yugoslavia. After settling down in Perth, Mario met his forthcoming art teacher, Sarah McNamara who saw his work and encouraged him to study further art. Mario finished his studies in art and design (1997) and had several exhibitions in Australia (1995-2000). During the studies in art, one of his inspirational artists was Pieter Bruegel, and as a result from this Mario moved to live and work in Amsterdam after returning to Europe in 2000. Mario Keglevic paints memories of his childhood, mainly from the countryside where he used to go to visit his uncle during the school holidays. Mario has captured the landscapes, villages and people with warm and balanced colors making his paintings to radiate with peace and harmony. See also Marios home site |
